Proposed mineral exploration activities on Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) No. 8760 located near Omaruru in Erongo Region, Namibia.
The application is for the operation and maintenance an existing 400kV Kokerboom - Aries powerline and associated infrastructures. The 400kV Kokerboom - Aries was constructed before the commencement of the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and there was no environmental impact assessment study conducted for the project prior to its development. It is therefore against this background that NamPower intends to apply for the operational Environmental Clearance Certificate in order to comply to the Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations.
