Trigon Mining (Namibia) (Pty) Ltd (Trigon) has successfully obtained EPL 7525, located ~ 5 km west of Kombat (i.e. from the EPL’s eastern boundary), in the Otjozondjupa Region. EPL 7525 is 1067 Hectares in size, encompassing 7 different farms. Trigon proposes to undertake exploration activities on EPL 7525 for base and rare metals, industrial minerals and precious metals. Trigon is planning exploration activities on the EPL.
The Omuthiya solid waste disposal site has been in existence for many years, however, there has not been any ECC in place. Instead, the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (ISWMP) has been an overarching guideline plan for the Town Council in terms of Solid waste management in the town. In compliance with Environmental Management Act 7 of 2007, the Omuthiya Town Council intends to apply for the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the existing solid waste disposal site (Dumping site). The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) in Namibia only certifies Charcoal/ Briquette if the manufacturer can prove that it complies with the FSC requirements stipulated in the: FSC STD 40-004 Version 2 for trading and manufacturing organisations using 100% FSC material.
