Oranjemund is a unique, formerly closed diamond-mining town in southwestern Namibia, located at the mouth of the Orange River bordering South Africa. The area around Oranjemund has been regarded as a restricted area under the Declaration Diamond Area No.1 until withdraw by the Government Notice No. 97 of 2000. The mining of gravel or base material is one of the key activities of the town operations as it provides essential raw material (aggregates) for the construction industry and infrastructure development, such as roads and buildings.

The purpose of obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for a solar project is to comply with the Environmental Management Act, 2007 and its EIA Regulations, which require that certain listed activities including the construction and operation of electricity generation facilities like photovoltaic solar farms may not proceed without an ECC.
1. Subdivision of farm Epukiro Reserve No 329 situate in Registration Division L, Omaheke Region, into Portion X (Otjiningandu Townland) and Remainder 2. Subdivision of Otjiningandu Townland into portions A, B, C and Remainder situate into Registration Division L, Omaheke Region 3. Subdivision of portions A, B and C of Otjiningandu Townland into Otjiningandu Proper, Otjiningandu Extension 1 and Otjiningandu Extension 2 respectively, situate in Registration Division L, Omaheke Region and subsequent rezoning.
Request to the Environmental Commissioner in terms of Section 33 of the Environmental Management Act of 2007 whether an EIA/ECC is required or not for the rezoning of the Remainder of Erf 136 Karibib (918m²) from Single Residential to Street for the creation of a small cul-de-sac street. The land is already being used as an informal street, lending access to the existing house on Erf 136 Karibib. Rezoning to Street will formalise the current situation.
The project involves bulk infrastructure construction through the new township establishment in Eenhana. Due to the construction of bulk infrastructure (roads, water, sewer, and electrical networks), an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) is required to comply with the Environmental Management Act (EMA) No. 7 of 2007 and the EIA Regulations of 2012.
The proposed township establishment on Portions 26 and 27 of the Remainder of Farm Oniipa Town and Townlands No. 1164 to ensure that the development complies with Namibia’s environmental laws and regulations. The ECC will assess and mitigate potential environmental impacts, especially in relation to activities within or near watercourses, and ensure that the construction of public roads, pipelines, and bulk infrastructure is carried out sustainably.

Rent-A-Drum, through its subsidiary, Namwaste (Pty) Ltd., aims to develop new industrial waste treatment and disposal facilities in Namibia, which will address the pressing shortage of solutions for industrial and hazardous waste management in the Country and will contribute to the protection of the environment whilst also creating employment opportunities and fostering economic growth. Namwaste is proposing to develop an integrated waste management, treatment, transfer, storage and recovery facility in Lüderitz.
The Proponent was granted by the Kunene Communal Landboard a right to undertake tourism operation at a site measuring 19.23 ha in De Riet, Khorixas Constituency, Kunene Region. The Proponent recognizes the lack of tourism facilities in this area and for this reason, the Proponent intends to construct and operate Tented Campsites and Tourism Facilities to meet demand for tourism products. The Proponent's understanding is that there are Namibian environmental legislations to be be fulfilled before undertaking the listed activity; hence this application.

The Proposed Exploration Activities on Exclusive Prospecting License (EPL) No. 10740 located Northwest of Opuwo in the Kunene Region.
The rezoning from "Public Open Space" to "Business" is a listed activity that requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate in terms of Section 5.1(a) of the Regulations in Government Notice No. 30 of 6 February 2012, which reads as follows: 5. Land Use and Development Activities 5.1. The rezoning of land from: (d) Use for nature conservation or zoned open space to any other land use: And for this application, Portion 1 of Erf 4284 Outapi Extension 14 is to be rezoned from "Public Open Space" to "Business" with a bulk of 0.3.
ECC is required to cover the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous cargo throughout Namibia and the SADC Region.
The ECC is for the the proposed small scale mining activities on Mining Claims (MCs) No 76410 - 76417 located northwest of Mile 108 in the Erongo Region. The proponent is interested in carrying out salt (industrial minerals) on a small scale.
The proposed prospecting and exploration activities for base and rare metals, dimension stone, industrial minerals, nuclear fuel minerals and precious metals on Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) No. 10500 located north of Omatjette, in the Daures and Omaruru Constituencies, in Erongo Region, Namibia.
The Roads Authority (RA) of Namibia intends to undertake Emergency Road Betterment Works on a 31 km section of District Road DR3472, located between Ndiyona and the Khaudum National Park entrance gate. This intervention is required due to the deteriorated and nearly impassable condition of the road, which provides essential access to schools, clinics, tourism destinations, and rural communities in the Kavango East Region.
Mr Günther Heimstädt of The Sports Village Number Thirty Eight CC owns Portion 8 of Farm Langstrand No. 42 (referred to as Portion 8) and plans to establish Ocean Key Hotel. Portion 8 is zoned General Business. In 2023 Mr Heimstädt applied to the Walvis Bay Municipality to purchase a portion (1000m²) of Portion 9 of Farm Langstrand No. 42 (referred to as Portion 9), which is directly adjacent to Portion 8, as additional space for vehicular access to basement parking, an electrical substation as well as a refuse area is needed as part of the Ocean Key development proposals.
