The applicant wishes to apply and obtain an Environmental clearance, this clearance will allow exploration work on the Exclusive Prospecting License (EPL) No. 9836. The primary interest will be to seek for dimension stone, base, rare, precious metals and industrial minerals, mineral groups within the license area. Under the 2012 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations of the Environmental Management Act (EMA) (Act No. 7 of 2007) the Government has made a list of projects which need an environmental clearance like mining, and etc. In order to fulfil the requirements of the EMA and its 2012 EIA Regulations Johannes Gideon Erika Sunday appointed SS Consultants CC, an independent Environ-mental Consultant to conduct an Environmental Scoping Assessment (ESA), inclusive of public consultation for the proposed exploration activities on EPL 9836 in the Otjozondjupa Region.
