The Vamumwa Rest Camp and Recreational Park (hereinafter referred to as Vamumwa), intends on obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for their current and operational recreational park and associated activities. The park is located 2 km out of Outapi Town, along the Outapi-Ruacana main road. The park provides a wide range of recreational activities for the local, regional and national community.

The Environmental Clearance Certificate is for the construction and operation of the Khomas Substation in the Khomas Region.

The ECC is for the operation and management of Van Eck Power Station. The Van Eck Power Station is located at the corner of Allen Street and Hosea Kutako Drive in the Northern Industrial Area, within the institutional boundaries of City of Windhoek Municipality. It is a Coal-Fired Power Station with a total of 4 generating units, each rated at 30 MW. The first two units (Unit 1 and Unit 2) were commissioned in 1972, while Unit 3 was commissioned in 1973 and Unit 4 in 1979. The station is recognizable by its two 103 meters high smokestacks or chimneys.

The Proponent, Mr. Nicolaas Carolus Januarie holds mineral rights under Mining Claims (MCs) No. 65989, 65990, 65991, 65992, 66681 and 66682 by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). The areas are prospective to Dimension stones and Industrial Minerals. The tenure of the licence is from 25 February 2014 and expired on 24 February 2016, as per the information available on the Namibia Mining Cadastre Portal. Therefore, a renewal application is required for submission to MME. The Proponent plans to conduct small scale mining for economical minerals on the MCs.

ECC is for the installation of a new submarine fibre optic cable system that will be landed at Swakopmund. The Equiano Cable System, which will connect Africa with Europe. It will be located along the West Coast of Africa, between Portugal and South Africa. Branching units along the cable will in turn connect it to African countries, including Namibia, to increase and improve connectivity in Africa. There will be one Namibian landing at Swakopmund, where it will be operated by the Namibian landing partner Paratus Telecommunications (Pty) Ltd.

Renewal of the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the Operation of a Fuel Retail Facility in Oshigambo Village, Oniipa Constituency, Oshikoto Region.

Omuthiya Town Council intends to apply for the ECC for the existing Gravel Burrow Pit at Okankololose. The Gravel Burrow pit is located within the Omuthiya townlands and is surrounded by traditional mahangu fields and homesteads of the Okankololose village. Although gravel mining activities have been taking place for many years, there has not been any Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) or Environmental Management Plan (EMP) prepared for the site.

The Environmental Clearance Cetificate renewal is for: Continuation of an existing mining activity, for which an Environmental Clearance was obtained during April 2018, which requires authorisation in terms of the Minerals (Prospecting and Mining) Act (No. 33 of 1992). 2. It should be noted that this project is only limited to obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate for the Operational Environmental Management Plan of the existing Sewer Plant of Rosh Pinah, Namibia. RoshSkor Township (Pty) Ltd (proponent) is of the intention to acquire an Environmental Clearance Certificate for the operation of the existing Sewer Plant. Scale and Scope of Activity: Retort Charcoal Producers (Pty) Ltd, through its planned plant, will process and package charcoal and briquettes for commercial purposes.

The Geo-technical survey predominately will consist of sub-soil drilling, extraction of soil samples and tests. The information obtained as outcome of the Geo- technical survey , will not only inform the ongoing EIA, but will also feed into the wind projects detailed technical specifications.

ECC is for the proposed construction and operations of a new bulk fuel storage facility of NAMCOR at the Shali Industrial Estate.

The Environmental Clearance Certificate is required for the continuation of the mining activities at Block 4 (Mining Licence No. 118 and 119) by Fourth Mining Company. The company has been mining precious and semi-precious stones at the same Block since 2002 and wishes to continue mining until their 14th April 2022 as per their Mining Licence validity period and beyond. The Proponent requires authorisation from the Environmental Commissioner for a period of three (3) years.

The Proposed exploration and subsequent mining activities on the Exclusive Prospecting Licenses (EPLs) No. 7430, 7587, 7629 to 7631 and 7633 to 7635 located near Aus, Karas Region. An Environmental Assessment (EA) process has to be conducted in accordance with the Regulations (2012) of the Environmental Management Act (7 of 2007) and it will form part of an application for the ECC. Under the Environmental Management Act (7 of 2007), the proposed development entails some listed activities that may not be undertaken without an Environmental Clearance Certificate.
