Ketu Bricks project has been in existence for more than 20 years. The main principle of business is to manufacture block bricks from sand and cement mixture. Bricks are made by means of a semi-mechanize method which include mixing sand and cement with a concrete mixture and molding bricks by means of hand operated molders. Sand is sourced from local dealers with approved sand permits or occasionally obtained from the approved the nearest sand burrow pits belonging to the Uukwambi Traditional Authority. Although, the project has been in existence for many years, the was never an EIA done nor EMP or ECC in place, hence, the owner appointed Green Gain Consultants cc to prepare an ESMP and apply for the ECC for the project in order ensure compliance with the law.
