It should be noted that this project is only limited to obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate for the Operational Environmental Management Plan of the existing Sewer Plant of Rosh Pinah, Namibia. RoshSkor Township (Pty) Ltd (proponent) is of the intention to acquire an Environmental Clearance Certificate for the operation of the existing Sewer Plant. The need to seek for the ECC arose given that the Sewer Plant was constructed and also upgraded during the time that the Environmental Management Act and its regulations was not promulgated. The upgrade of the Sewer Plant resulted from the increase in population growth and expansion of Rosh Pinah town due to the operations of the mines in Rosh Pinah. After the EMA Bill came to pass, the construction and operation of a Sewer Plant was listed as an activity that may not be undertaken without an Environmental Clearance Certificate.
