There are currently two waste disposal sites in Oranjemund adjacent to each other. The old was supposed to be decommissioned but somehow still utilized by some and the new site that is still not under operation. The new proposed site (landfill site) is an upgrade from the old site and is served with modern facilities to handle proper waste landfilling such as the guardhouse, weigh bridge, sorting spaces, recycling cells, fencing.
