FP Du Toit Consumer Fuel Facility has been in operation for over 10 years now. ECC application is for proposed upgrade activities and continued operations of the existing fuel facility. In order to comply with the requirements of the Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007), and its regulations of 2012.
The ECC is for the operation of the 66kV Van Eck Finke Tansmission line in Khomas region. Van Eck - Finke 66kV powerline runs from Van Eck substation to Finke Substation station Khomas Region. This powerline was constructed in 2012. It enables the supply of electricity to residents of Finkestein Estate. Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (2012), the activity described as "The construction of facilities for the transmission and supply of electricity…" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate. Section 57.
ECC is for mariculture of Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) and Peruvian scallop (Argopecten purpuratus) in the dedicated mariculture area at Lüderitz.
