The Proponent intends to subdivide Erf 980, Keetmanshoop into Erf A and the Remainder and to subdivide Erf 2459 into Erf B and the Remainder. Erf A/980 will be rezoned from Street to Business and Erf B/2459 will be rezoned from Public Open Space to Business. The proposed subdivision and rezoning is to enable Council to consolidate the erven into Erf X which will be utilised for Business purposes.

The Octagon Construction Consumer Fuel Facility for the Kleine Kuppe Extension 1 township development has been in operation since 2019. ECC application is for proposed continued operations of the existing fuel installation. In order to comply with the requirements of the Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007), and its regulations of 2012.
The existing Environmental Clearance Certificate is expiring on 24 April 2020, therefore the application for renewal as per regulation.

The Environmental Clearance Certificate is for the operation of the 350kV HVDC transmission line from Gerus Substation near Otjiwarongo to Zambezi substation. The HVDC line was put into commercial operation in October 2010. The transmission line links the NamPower network to the ZESCO transmission system in Zambia.
ECC is for the continued operations of a fuel retail facility supplying unleaded petrol and diesel in Otjinene, Omaheke Region.
The 66kV Bismark-Witvlei powerline runs Bismark substation to Witvlei substation. Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (2012), the activity described as "The construction of facilities for the transmission and supply of electricity" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate. Since this transmission line was constructed before the promulgation of Environmental management Act and its regulation, Section 57.

The 66kV Gobabis – Witvlei powerline runs from Gobabis Substation to the Witvlei Substation in the Gobabis/Witvlei area. The ECC is for the operation and management of 66kV Omburu - Marble transmission line. The 66kV Omburu - Marble powerline runs between Omburu substation to Marble Substation in Erongo Region. Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (2012), the activity described as "The construction of facilities for the transmission and supply of electricity" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate.
The ECC is for the operation and management of the 66kV Otjikoto - Asis West transmission. The 132kV Otjikoto - Asis West powerline runs between Otjikoto Substation to the Asis West Substation. Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (2012), the activity described as "The construction of facilities for the transmission and supply of electricity" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate.
SCT currently abstracts water from the sea, which is treated through a water treatment facility, for cleaning purposes including surface floors, process machinery and leftover fish guts in the fish factory. They have a permit for the abstraction of 2.190.000 m3 per annum of seawater, which was issued by the Ministry of Agriculture Water and Land Reform’s (MAWL) - Department of Water Affairs (DWA). However, SCT only abstracts up to a maximum of ±1.576.800 m3 per annum as per the current operational demand, i.e.

Golden Empire Mineral Mining CC (The Proponent) has been granted with an exclusive prospecting licenses (EPLs) No. 7588 and 7653 by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). The tenure of these licences is from 22 November 2019 and 3 November 2019 respectively. The covered area is prospective for five (5) groups of commodities, upon which detailed prospecting and exploration activities will be conducted. The Proponent plans to conduct prospecting and exploration activities leading to the estimation and delineation of the target resource.
The main reason for this application is to allow the Proponent for Welwitschia University to be allowed to continue with the establishment of the charcoal, wood, fencing poles and furniture manufacturing production at Welwitschia University, Mururani Campus in Otjozondjupa Region.
