The Okahao Town Council was granted an Environmental Clearance Certificate for the operation and management of the existing wastewater disposal site (Oxidation Ponds) on 18 January 2018 and expired in January 2022. The Town Council has appointed Green Gain Consultants cc to carry out the renewal of the ECC to ensure due diligence and compliance with the Environmental Management Act 07 of 2007 and other relevant legislations. The site has already has a valid Wastewater and Effluent Disposal Exemption permit valid until 2027.
