The company has invested in a number of retail fuel facilities across the length and breadth of the country. These facilities ensure self-sufficiency to ENGEN in terms of the supply of its products to its entire customer base, therefore augmenting its supply chain. In terms of the Environmental Management Act 7 of 2007 (Government Notice No. 29), certain activities may not be undertaken without an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC). This activity is included in the above-mentioned list.

Rockstar Explore Mining CC (Reg. No: CC/2020/01972), hereafter referred to as the proponent obtained and Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC No. 2300564) on 29 June 2023. The ECC was in respect to establishing and operating a Small-Medium Scale Quarry / Mine for Dimension Stone on Mining License 244, and although they had indicated potential storage and use of diesel fuel on-site.

Benguela Petroleum Supplies cc intends on obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for their proposed installation of two above-ground fuel supply tanks (maximum 286 000 litres) and one fuel storage tank (maximum 500 000 litres) on a piece of land measuring approximately 2.6 hectares (ha), located within the settlement boundary of Ariamsvlei, //Karas Region, Namibia. The objective of the proposed project is to supply fuel to trucks traveling through the Ariamsvlei Border Post between Namibia and South Africa.

WBSH currently produce approximately 1 million metric tonnes of high quality NaCl from seawater per annum that is distributed to various clients locally and exported to other markets. The total project site, including evaporation ponds, covers an area of ~ 5 000 ha. Salt is transported by truck from the plant to the harbour in Walvis Bay.

The anticipated timeframe for the construction and upgrading activities is 18 - 20 months.
