Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as "energy distribution, transmission and generation" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. In 2022, NamPower obtained the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the management and operation of the 132kV Otjikoto - Copper transmission line and would therefore like to apply for the renewal of the ECC for 132kV Otjikoto - Copper transmission line to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations.

NamPower 2025. 251127006739: The application for the renewal of the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the operation and maintenance of an existing 220kV Hardap - Kokerboom 1 and 2 transmission lines.

In accordance with Section 27 of the Environmental Management Act (Act No. 7 of 2007), any activity related to energy generation, transmission, and distribution is classified as a listed activity. As such, it may not be undertaken without obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) from the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism. In 2022, NamPower was granted an ECC for the operation and maintenance of the Hardap - Kokerboom 1 and 2 transmission lines.

Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007), section 27 the activity described as "energy distribution, transmission and generation" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the ECC for the operation and maintenance of Obib - Lorelei T-Off transmission line in order to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. The 66kV Obib - Lorelei transmission line, commissioned in 2002, extends over a distance of approximately 38 kilometres.

Under the Section 27 of the Environmental Management Act (Act No. 7 of 2007), any activity related to energy generation, transmission, and distribution is classified as a listed activity. As such, it requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) prior to commencement or continuation. In 2022, NamPower obtained an ECC for the operation and maintenance of the 220 kV Harib – Kokerboom 1 and 2 transmission lines. These lines form part of NamPower's national transmission network, facilitating electricity flow between the Harib and Kokerboom Substations in southern Namibia.
