The ECC is required for the proposed minerals exploration activities in the EPL 3963 covering the following activities: (i) Initial desktop exploration activities (review of existing information and all previous activities in order identify any potential target/s in the EPL Area). The existing Omaruru dumpsite does not meet the Solid Waste Management standards and MET landfill siting Guidelines, thus pose serious environmental risks. The proponent intends to establish and operate a new township development. The applicable land is formally known as the Reminder of Portion 455 of Usakos SUD No 41. The land is approximately 26 Hectares in extent. It is located on the eastern edge of the existing Usakos Township adjacent to the railway line. The area south of the railway line accommodates the Usakos industrial area. The land in between these already developed areas has great potential but is currently largely underutilized.
