Kambwa Mining CC (The Proponent) has been granted with an exclusive prospecting license (EPL) No. 7285 by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). The tenure of this licence is from 20 May 2019. The covered area is prospective for five (5) groups of commodities, upon which detailed prospecting and exploration activities will be conducted. The Proponent plans to conduct prospecting and exploration activities on amended EPL leading to the estimation and delineation of the target resource for mining. Prospecting and exploration form part of the listed activities that may not be undertaken without an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC). Thus, EPL 7285 is subjected to a Clearance Certificate to be issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) upon submission of an Environmental Assessment Report (EAR) and draft Environmental Management Plan (EMP) to the competent authorities (MEFT and MME).
