The proponent intends to establish and operate a new township development. The applicable land is formally known as the Reminder of Portion 455 of Usakos SUD No 41. The land is approximately 26 Hectares in extent. It is located on the eastern edge of the existing Usakos Township adjacent to the railway line. The area south of the railway line accommodates the Usakos industrial area. The land in between these already developed areas has great potential but is currently largely underutilized. It is in state of neglect and could be put to better use, i.e. as a residential extension of the existing development in the area. The proposal is to develop a mix of low income single residential and high-density residential erven (i.e. for apartment blocks) to alleviate the housing shortage in the Usakos Township.
