The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform (MAFWLR) is implementing the Namibia Water Sector Support Program (NWSSP), a program that is co-financed and supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB). This initiative seeks to establish sustainable water resource production and transfer, ultimately improving access to, and the quality and security of safe drinking water. The purpose of the King Kauluma-Omutsegwonime Rural WSS is to provide potable water within reasonable distance for households in terms of the Water supply and Sanitation Policy of the MAFWLR.
The objective is to obtain an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the Proposed Rezoning of Erf 237 Martin Neib Avenue Okahandja, from Single Residential with a Density of 1:900 To General Business with a Bulk of 1:2 for a Hotel Pension of more than 10 Leasable Rooms. The proposed project is located on Erf 237 Martin Neib Avenue, Okahandja, Otjozondjupa Region This EIA process is conducted on the request of the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development (MURD), as one of the requirements, prior to the decision-making of the rezoning of the Erf.
Onganja Mining Company (Pty) Ltd is a small local company conducting exploration and underground mining activities on the above-mentioned Mining Licenses ( Mining License 84 A, B and C). During the reporting period, operations have continued to be focused on the construction of the ore crushing and beneficiation plant. Currently, this phase is nearing completion.

The construction of facilities for - (b) the transmission and supply of electricity; WASTE MANAGEMENT, TREATMENT, HANDLING AND DISPOSAL ACTIVITIES 2.1 The construction of facilities for waste sites, treatment of waste and disposal of waste. 2.2 Any activity entailing a scheduled process referred to in the Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Ordinance, 1976. 2.3 The import, processing, use and recycling, temporary storage, transit or export of waste.
Redearth Mining CC (Reg. No: CC/2024/09742), hereafter referred to as the proponent is Namibian registered enterprise that ventures into prospecting and mining sector with an interest in the Base and Rare Metals, and Precious Metals commodities. Redearth, has pegged several mining claims in this respect and wishes to apply to obtain an Environmental Clearance Certificate in order to comply with the prescribe environmental legislations of Namibia i.e. Environmental Management Act No. 7 of 2007 and its regulations.
Mr. Gottfried Mootu (herein referred to as the proponent), is a Namibian citizen who ventures in minerals exploration and mining. Their aim is to take advantage of the opportunity for self-employment and job creation that exist in the mining sector of Namibia. Mr. Mootu, wishes to apply to obtain an Environmental Clearance Certificate in order to comply with the prescribed environmental legislations of Namibia i.e. Environmental Management Act No. 7 of 2007 and its regulations. Activity 5.1 (d) The rezoning of land from use for nature conservation or zoned open space to any other land use. Activity 9.1: Manufacturing, storage, handling, or processing of hazardous substances as defined in the Hazardous Substances Ordinance, 1974.
ECC is for the bunkering of marine gas oil (MGO) within the exclusive economic zone of Namibia. Two methods of bunkering will be pursued by the Proponent. Firstly, it will be the ship-to-ship transfer of fuel for refuelling purposes of seafaring vessels like petroleum, mining and fishing vessels that do not make regular calls to a port. Fuel is typically loaded into a bunker barge within a port, or from a floating bulk storage vessel, and the bunker barge then pumps fuel into the receiving vessels wherever they requested fuel to be received.
Theresia Jeaneth Aochamus (The Proponent) is the holder of EPL No. 7327. EPL 7327 was granted in 2019 by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). The tenure for exploration on the EPL is granted for works between 06 March 2019 and 05 March 2022.The Proponent intends to acquire an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) to enable prospecting and exploration activity on the EPL. The Proponent focuses on acquisition, exploration and development of Base Metals and, Precious Metals on the EPL.
On 5 May 2023 Nambwa Camp opened its doors to self drive tourists. According to the EIA Act and Regulation 2007, Comply, African Monarch Lodges requires to apply for a new application to request for an ECC. NAMBWA CAMP at KWANDO CORE AREA within BWABWATA NATIONAL PARK Nambwa Camp is one of African Monarch Lodges (AML), which is situated east of Long lagoon within the Kwando Core Area of Bwabwata National Park (BNP). Furthermore, the Solid Waste Management protocols at this camp site, are recommendable and should be replicated at all lodges and camp sites throughout Namibia.
AGRICULTURE AND AQUACULTURE ACTIVITIES 7.3 The genetic modification of any organism with the purpose of fundamentally changing the inherent characteristics of that organism. 7.4 The import, processing and transit of genetically modified organisms. 7.5 Pest control. 7.6 The release of genetically modified organisms into the environment where an environmental assessment is required by law. 7.7 The release of any organism outside its natural area of distribution that is to be used for biological pest control. 7.8 The introduction of alien species into local ecosystems.
