The applicant has been operating a fuel service station situated at the corner of Sam Nujoma Avenue and 18th Road, in the heart of the harbour town of Walvis Bay for over ten years without an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC). The ECC is therefore required for the continued operation of the fuel service station. Furthermore, the ECC will ensure that the listed activities conducted by the applicant, i.e. the operation of a fuel service station is in alignment with the provisions of the Environmental Management Act and EIA regulations.
This is an application for a new Environmental Clearance Certificate. The Proponent, Wesco Waste Management (Pty) Ltd intends to establish a thermal waste plant on Erf 802, Nautilus, Lüderitz. 2.1 The construction of facilities for waste sites, treatment of waste, and disposal of waste. 2.3 The import, processing, use, and recycling, temporary storage, transit, or export of waste. 9.1 The manufacturing, storage, handling, or processing of a hazardous substance defined in the Hazardous Substances Ordinance, 1974.

The reason for the ECC is for the Subdivision of Erf 1145, Arandis into 3 Erven and Remainder, Rezoning of the proposed Remainder of Erf 1145, Arandis from "Local Authority" to "Street" reservation, Subdivision of Erf 1147 into 11 Erven and Remainder, Rezoning of the proposed Erven 1,2 and 5 of Erf 1147, Arandis from "Business" with a bulk of 1.0 to “Local Authority” and subsequent Rezoning of the proposed Remainder of Erf 1147, Arandis from “Business” with a bulk of 1.0 to "Street" reservation.
Keetmanshoop Agrimark fuel retail facility has been in operation for over 10 years, however the proponent has no record of an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the site. As a result, the proponent seeks to submit an application for an ECC, in order to comply with the requirements of the Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007), and its regulations.

As a result, the proponent seeks to submit an application for an ECC, in order to comply with the requirements of the Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007), and its regulations.
Ondangwa Expressmark fuel retail facility has been in operation for over 8 years, however the proponent has no record of an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the site. As a result, the proponent seeks to submit an application for an ECC, in order to comply with the requirements of the Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007), and its regulations.
RENEWAL Renewal application for the 50 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic (PV) solar power plant with power line located close to Trekkopje Uranium Mine within the Erongo Region, Namibia. Listed activities triggered by the Project include: LISTED ACTIVITY EIA SCREENING FINDING ENERGY GENERATION, TRANSMISSION AND STORAGE ACTIVITIES 4) a) The generation of electricity; and b) Transmission and supply of electricity. Generation of fifty (50) megawatts (MW) solar power from the solar power plant. Cabling for powerline is below ground. Produce electricity for the local communities.
The applicant wishes to apply and obtain an Environmental clearance, this clearance will allow exploration work on the Exclusive Prospecting License (EPL) No. 8832. The primary interest will be to seek for for base and rare metals, dimension stone, industrial minerals and precious metals mineral groups within the license area. Under the 2012 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations of the Environmental Management Act (EMA) (Act No. 7 of 2007) the Government has made a list of projects which need an environmental clearance like mining, thermal power plants, infrastructure etc.

The ECC is required because the proposed river sand mining is classified as a listed activity under the Environmental Management Act, 2007 (Act No. 7 of 2007) and the EIA Regulations of 2012. Since the project falls within Dorob National Park, a protected area, environmental authorisation through the ECC process is legally mandatory.

Since the project falls within Dorob National Park, a protected area, environmental authorisation through the ECC process is legally mandatory.
