In 2022, NamPower obtained the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the management and operation of the 132kV Harib – Rock transmission line and would therefore like to apply for the renewal of the ECC for 132kV Harib - Rock transmission line to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations.
In accordance with Section 27 of the Environmental Management Act (Act No. 7 of 2007), any activity related to energy generation, transmission, and distribution is classified as a listed activity. As such, it may not be undertaken without obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) from the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism. In 2022, NamPower was granted an ECC for the operation and maintenance of the Hardap - Kokerboom 1 and 2 transmission lines.

In 2022, NamPower obtained the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the management and operation of the 132kV Otjikoto - Copper transmission line and would therefore like to apply for the renewal of the ECC for 132kV Otjikoto - Copper transmission line to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations.

These lines form part of NamPower's national transmission network, facilitating electricity flow between the Harib and Kokerboom Substations in southern Namibia.
