Well logging plays a crucial role in the oil and gas industry, aiding in the exploration, production, and monitoring of hydrocarbon reservoirs deep underground. This process involves the measurement and analysis of various properties of the rocks and fluids within a wellbore, providing valuable data for decision-making by geoscientists and engineers. There are several types of well logging techniques used in the industry, each offering unique insights into subsurface conditions.
During 2017, the Rundu Town Council appointed Environam Consultants Trading cc (ECT) to undertake the Environmental Assessment (EA) for Township Establishment of Ndama Extensions 14 to 16 in order to obtain an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the proposed development. An Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) was issued for the activity in April 2017. In order to realise the formalisation project, the following activities were to be undertaken: Subdivision of the Remainder of Farm Rundu Townlands No. 1329 into Portions 2138, 2139 and 2140.

The applicant wishes to apply and obtain an Environmental clearance, this clearance will allow exploration work on the Exclusive Prospecting License (EPL) No. 9036. The primary interest will be to seek for base, rare, precious metals, industrial minerals and dimension stone mineral groups within the license area. Under the 2012 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations of the Environmental Management Act (EMA) (Act No. 7 of 2007) the Government has made a list of projects which need an environmental clearance like mining, thermal power plants, infrastructure etc.
Nature of Activity: Construction and operation (logistical management of importing and exporting materials, including sulphuric acid, an essential reagent in the mining industry's extraction of uranium (U3O8)) of the sulphuric acid storage and handling facility at Walvis Bay harbor (see Appendix A). Please refer to the background information document (BID) in Appendix B for further details. Location of Activity: Construction of a sulphuric acid storage and handling facilities at the Walvis Bay Port including transport from the WB Port to the Etango Mine (see Appendix A).
