Tulaing Properties (Pty) Ltd applied for an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the Township Establishment of Tulaing Estate Proper, Extension 1 and Extension 2, Creation of Street and Installation of associated infrastructure, Karibib, Erongo Region in 2017. The Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed development was conducted by Africa Planning Forum in 2017. Following the submission of the final Environmental Assessment Report, the ECC was granted as per letter dated 27 February 2018 (Appendix A).
Omuthiya Town Council applied for an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the Subdivision of Erf 53, Omuthiya and the Creation of Streets, Omuthiya, Oshikoto Region in 2015. PowerCom (Pty) Ltd (PowerCom hereafter) proposes to erect a telecommunication tower on Erf 1824, Matutura in Swakopmund which aim to strengthen the coverage for mobile services, inclusive of voice and data services within the subject area. The Proponent plans to conduct prospecting and exploration activities leading to the estimation and delineation of the target resource. Prospecting and exploration form part of the listed activities that may not be undertaken without an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC). Thus, EPL 4866 are subjected to a Clearance Certificate to be issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) upon submission of an Environmental Assessment Report (EAR) and draft Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
