Request for Exemption from Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) – Kopano Livelihood Project, Ngoma Area, Salambala Conservancy We are writing to formally request an exemption from conducting an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Kopano Livelihood Project, located in the Ngoma area of Salambala Conservancy. This project involves the installation of a borehole to provide water strictly for human and livestock consumption, as well as irrigation for a small-scale (20m x 20m) nutritional garden within an existing village setup.
Listed activities triggered by the Project include: LISTED ACTIVITY EIA SCREENING FINDING ENERGY GENERATION, TRANSMISSION AND STORAGE ACTIVITIES 1. The construction of facilities for – (a) The generation of electricity; (b) The transmission and supply of electricity. There are 4 x 2MW turbines and 7 x 6MW turbines for a total installed capacity of 50MW designed to generate 44 MW at the point of connection. The Electricity Control Board has issued a 44 MW generation licence for the Project.
The Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the Fisherman’s Village Affordable Housing Project is required for the subdivision, rezoning, and development of Erf 5757, Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay, Erongo Region, Namibia.
