Summary details for Mopanveldophis zebrinus

Cunene Racer

The Cunene Racer is a thin snake with large eyes and round pupils with large and smooth body scales. It has black and white crossbars which may indicate that it mimics the venomous zebra snake.

It is a ground dwelling snake which occurs in rocky areas in isolated populations in the Kunene region.

This is without a doubt the rarest snake we have in Namibia and is only known from a few confirmed sightings.

They are not considered to be dangerous.
