Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as "energy distribution, transmission and generation" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the ECC for 22kV Harib - Schonau to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. The 22kV Harib - Schonau power line starts from Harib Substation and runs north-eastwards to Schonau in Warmbad area, //Karas region. This line is 9.3 km in length and is constructed with wooden pole structures.
