The ECC is required by the Proponent (Greenfield Fuel Reserve and Energy (Pty) Ltd) with respect to the proposed development and operation of a bulk refined fuel storage facility in Namport North Port Industrial Area, Walvis Bay, Erongo Region. The proposed storage of bulk refined petroleum products is the core business activity of the Proponent and focused on 10ppm and 50ppm diesel, fuel additives, and unleaded fuel and petroleum products (trading and supply). The project seeks to store a minimum of 100million to 200million litres of low sulphur diesel (10ppm and 50ppm) to thus supply the addressable market of Namibia, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo Zambia and Zimbabwe. The construction, operational and rehabilitation phases of the proposed fuel terminal will include the following activities: Site preparation, civil construction works, mechanical and steelwork, tanks installation, mechanical equipment installation, electrical and instrumentation installation, and handover to Greenfield Fuel Reserve and Energy (Pty) Ltd / operator.
