Present wildlife utilisation in the Okavango Delta
The value of the wild animal resource in the Okavango Delta can be assessed by identifying the economic and social benefits that accrue to both the region and the country from its exploitation. The nature of this exploitation can be separated into two categories: consumptive utilization in the form of hunting and non-consumptive use, such as wildlife viewing. This report considers the nature of use and economic benefits derived from the Delta's wild animal resource at its present level of utilization.
