A management plan for Okavango crocodile
This preliminary communication puts forward a new approach to management of the crocodile population on the Okavango River between Mohembo and Seronga, centered on the use of a computer simulation model to suggest strategies, monitor process and direct research. The development of such a plan in the first place rests on the assumption that if the Okavango crocodiles are not exploited they will revert to the status of pests, irrespective of any nominal legal status they may enjoy. As pests, they must be exterminated sooner or later.
