The ecology and distribution limits of Colophospermum mopane in southern Africa
Vegetation distribution patterns, especially at species level, have not been accorded serious attention in terms of ecological research in semi-arid areas. In Botswana some wide interest has been shown, especially on investigations toward the biogeography of the species Colophospermum mopane because of its abundance, homogeneity and economic importance. Contrasting views on the ecological distribution of this tree species are here cited with a view to incite further research on the topic.
