Human health problems associated with the Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta has health problems unique to itself when we compare the area to the rest of the country, Trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness) is only found in the Delta region, whilst malaria is particularly bad in the area; most of the county's few leprosy cases are found there. Tuberculosis, Bilharziasis, wild animal injuries, drowning, waterborne bacterial diseases and plague cause further health problems.
