The flightless and day-time Onymacris r. rugatipennis (Tenebrionidae, Adesmiini, inhabiting the lower courses of the Kuiseb and Swakop river beds, in the Central Namib, - according to markings carried out in Gobabeb - does not migrate on a larger scale. (This does not apply to the related O. plana, inhabiting the margins of the dunes of the Kuiseb area.)
