The proposed project involves the construction of a telecommunication Base Transceiver Station (BTS) tower at Lüderitz Ext. 5 (Nautilus) as part of PowerCom (Pty) Ltd’s initiative to strengthen telecommunication infrastructure and improve network connectivity across Namibia. The proposed development aims to enhance communication services, improve network reliability, and support socio-economic development within the surrounding communities. In accordance with the Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations of 2012, an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process is being undertaken to identify and assess potential environmental and social impacts associated with the proposed development and to recommend suitable mitigation measures through an Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
