Kala Minerals CC (The Proponent) applied for an Exclusive Prospecting License (EPL) No.11543 from the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy (MIME) on 01 April 2026. The covered area is prospective for Base & Rare Metals, Industrial Minerals, and Precious Stones, upon which detailed prospecting and exploration activities will be conducted. The tenement is situated near Oranjemund, in the //Kharas Region (Figure 1). The EPL area is dominantly located within the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), and covers the Territorial Zone (TZ), and lies within water depths of about 90 mbsl to 140 mbsl with a lateral extent of 49204.0471 Hectares (ha).
