Abstract:

TradePort Namibia (Pty) Ltd (herein referred to as the proponent) is a registered Namibian company, which ventures in the Import and Export Trade Operations that mainly entails the transportation, handling and storage of fuel and mineral ore. Currently, TradePort Namibia maintains operations (fleet of trucks and skips, warehouse and Transshipment) consisting of haulage and storage of up to 80 000 tons of Manganese, Iron ore and other commodities (Gypsum, Diesel, Fertilizer and Lime) along the Trans-Oranje Corridor through Lüderitz Port. In particular to this assignment, TradePort Namibia (Pty) Ltd proposes to commence an addition import-and-export operation of “Ilmenite Ore” and other commodities to the tune of 40 000 ton utilizing the Oranjemund Border Post linking the Port of Lüderitz with the Port-Nolloth. The key component of the proposed activity entails the loading of Road (side-tipper) trucks with ilmenite lumpy ore in Port Nolloth (South Africa), after which the ore is transported to the Port of Lüderitz by road. In Lüderitz, the ore will be offloaded and stored in a closed-top TradePort’s warehouse within NamPort premises.
