Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as "energy distribution, transmission and generation" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the ECC for existing 22kV Koichab T-off - Koichab in order to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. The 22kV Koichab T-off - Koichab reticulation system starts from the Koichab T-off Substation approximately 20km east of Lűderitz and follows the tarmac road between Lűderitz and Aus north-eastwards from where it branches off northwards along a gravel road following the NamWater pipeline route up to the boreholes in the Koichab Pan area in //Karas Region. This line is 103.5 km in length. The line is constructed with wooden structures.
