Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as "energy distribution, transmission and generation" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. In 2020 NamPower obtained the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the maintenance and operation of the Stampriet - Glave reticulation system and associated infrastructures. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the renewal of the ECC for Stampriet - Glave line to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. This reticulation system runs from Stampriet substation in Hardap Region to Farms in Glave, San Maryn and other supply points in Hardap Region. The Stampriet - Glave power line is 102 km in length and is constructed with wooden pole structures.
