The Proposed Small-Medium Scale quarrying of Dimension Stone on Mining Claim No. 67448 situated northwest of Usakos in the Erongo Region. Mining Claim (MC) No. 67448 rights were granted by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) on the 31st of August 2013 for small-scale quarrying of Dimension Stone. The mining rights expired on the 30th of August 2015, hence, the mining rights on the MC need to be renewal. However, the renewal of the MC by MME is subject to an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) from the Environmental Commissioner for consideration as shown on the Namibia Mines and Energy Cadastre Map Portal ("pending renewal"). Hence, the need to apply for the ECC for consideration of the MC renewal and subsequent quarrying of dimension stone on a small-medium scale within the MC boundaries.
