The proponent, Grey Thorn Nature Estate intends to establish a nature estate development to be known as Grey Thorn Nature Estate. The proposed development site is Portion A of Portion 124 of Farm Ondekaremba No.78 in Windhoek, Khomas region. The property is currently zoned for Agricultural purposes; hence town planning procedures will be applied for the rezoning of the property to the appropriate land use zone in terms of the Kapps Farm Town Planning scheme to enable the proposed activities. Principle approval has been granted by the City of Windhoek for the intended activities. The proposed rezoning procedures and the proposed development activities will trigger activities listed under the Environmental Management Act, No. 07 of 2007, and its Regulations (No. 03 of February 2012) as activities that cannot be undertaken without an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study being carried out.
