The applicant (Omaruru Engineering Workshop cc) has been operating a fuel retail outlet for many years, way before the Environmental Management Act was promulgated. No EIA was therefore conducted and as such no EMP has been approved and an ECC granted for the fuel retail outlet. The applicant wishes to rectify this oversight by complying with the provisions of EMA. The ECC is therefore required to allow and to realign the continued operations of an existing fuel retail outlet with the provisions of EMA and EIA regulations.
