The applicant has been operating a fuel service station for a number of years without obtaining an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as required by the Environmental Management Act and EIA Regulations. The applicant maintained that he was not aware of the ECC requirements and was alerted by officials from the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy who visited the service station recently. It is the intention of the applicant to comply with the requirements hence this ECC application. The ECC is therefore required to realign the operations of the service station with applicable legislation.
