Abstract:

The applicant intends to continue to mine Lithium on the mining licence. Namibia's abundant industrial mineral resources are crucial for its economy, contributing significantly to GDP, foreign exchange earnings, and government revenue . The Environmental Regulations procedure (GN 30 of 2012) stipulates that no mining and quarrying activities may be undertaken without an environmental clearance certificate. As such, an environmental clearance certificate must be applied for in accordance with regulation 6 of the 2012 environmental regulations. The proponent intends to renew the current certificate.
