Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as "energy distribution, transmission and generation" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the ECC for the operation and maintenance of Detmond – Kutako electrical reticulation system to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. The Detmond - Kutako electrical reticulation system route runs north-eastwards, from Detmond Substation to Kutako substation located at Hosea Kutako (Windhoek International) Airport where the backbone for this route ends in Khomas region.
