Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as "energy distribution, transmission and generation" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the ECC for operation and maintenance of the Oamites - Oamites Military Base and associated infrastructures to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. The Oamites - Oamites Military Base Reticulation route runs north-westwards from the Nauspoort Reclosure, to the Oamites Substation and it supplies electricity to Oamites Military and other various supply points including farms in the general Oamites area in Khomas region. The Oamites - Oamites Military Base electrical reticulation system has a total length of 46.4 km, and it is constructed with wooden pole structures.
