Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as "energy distribution, transmission and generation" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the ECC for operation and maintenance of Ongeama - Ongeama electrical reticulation system and associated infrastructures to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. The Ongeama - Ongeama Reticulation route runs westwards from the Ongeama Substation to Farm Ongombombero west of Okahandja, with various supply points including farms and communication towers in the general Ongeama area in Otjozondjupa region.
