The ECC is being sought for the operation and management of the Independence Beach Service Station CC, located in Walvis Bay, Erongo Region, Namibia. The ECC will authorise the proponent to undertake activities associated with the daily operation of a fuel retail facility, including but not limited to: The storage and dispensing of petroleum products (petrol and diesel); The use and maintenance of underground fuel storage tanks and associated infrastructure; The provision of ancillary services such as a convenience shop and vehicle air/water refill stations; Compliance with national environmental legislation and mitigation of potential environmental risks such as soil contamination, groundwater pollution, fire hazards, and emissions. The ECC will ensure that the service station operates by the Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007) and its regulations, promoting environmental sustainability, public health, and safety.
