Renewal Application: TeraSun Energy proposes to develop a 82 MWp PV Power Plant east of Arandis. To connect the proposed PV Power Plant with the national grid, a 132 kV interconnection overhead powerline between the PV Power Plant and the Lithops Substation southwest of Arandis is planned. The proposed powerline, which is the subject of this Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) Renewal Application, entails the following: 1. A ~20 km long single circuit 132 kV interconnection overhead powerline from their proposed PV power plant’s private step-up substation to the Lithops Substation of NamPower. 2. Installation of steel monopole powerline support structures, capable of carrying two 132 kV circuits if required in future, however only one circuit shall be constructed at the commissioning date. The monopole powerline support structures will carry 132 kV electricity conductors and one optical fibre ground wire above the conductors. Spacing between the towers will be 350 to 450 m, depending on the terrain. The proposed powerline follows the same route of an existing NamPower powerline and will connect with the Lithops Substation, using an existing spare 132 kV bay. Refer to the Background Information Letter accompanying this Renewal Application for further background relating to the progress relating to the overall Project development.
