Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as “energy distribution, transmission and generation” requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the issue ECC for Witvlei – Abbatoir and associated infrastructures to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. The Witvlei - Abbatoir Reticulation route runs eastwards, from the Witvlei Substation to the Farm Lee Enfield towards Gobabis, with T/off lines servicing numerous farms and communication towers and other supply points in the general area to the east of Witvlei in Omaheke region. The Witvlei - Abbatoir electrical reticulation system has a total length of 95.5 km and it has towers constructed with wooden pole structures. This ECC also includes Klein Begin Isolating Station and Kunemus Isolating Station.
