Abstract:

Renewal: an EIA was conducted in 2021 and the ECC expired and therefore needs to be renewed. The Environmental Management Act (No 7 of 2007) stipulates that an Environmental Scoping Assessment is required as the following ‘Listed Activities’ are involved: the Karas Regional council is of the intension to to establish 20 new extensions Within Aussenkehr and it triggers certain activities listed in the act. The construction of facilities for the transmission and supply of electricity. Temporary storage of waste Removal of vegetation Establishment of Land Resettlement Scheme The construction of water bulk supply pipelines The construction of public roads.
