Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) section 27 the activity described as "energy distribution, transmission and generation" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) as it is a listed activity. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the issue of an ECC for Schlangkopf - Dam Reticulation System Including Schlangkopf - Weir distribution Line, Dam Substation, Weir Substation and other associated Infrastructures to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. This powerlines in this electrical reticulation system start from Schlangkopf Substation towards Dam substation and to Weir Substation in the Neckartal Dam area in //Karas Region. This ECC includes Schlangkopf - Weir distribution line, Dam Substation and Weir Substation. Dam substation and Weir Substation cover a footprint of about 1 423 m² and 3 734 m² respectively. The Schlangkopf - Dam electrical reticulation system has a total length 20.9 km and is constructed with wooden structures. Figure 1 below shows the locality map for this electrical reticulation system.
