Abstract:

Listed activities triggered by the Project include: LISTED ACTIVITY EIA SCREENING FINDING ENERGY GENERATION, TRANSMISSION AND STORAGE ACTIVITIES 1. The construction of facilities for – (a) The generation of electricity; (b) The transmission and supply of electricity. There are 4 x 2MW turbines and 7 x 6MW turbines for a total installed capacity of 50MW designed to generate 44 MW at the point of connection. The Electricity Control Board has issued a 44 MW generation licence for the Project. A confirmation of compliance with generation licence conditions has been issued to the Proponent on 30 January 2025. WASTE MANAGEMENT, TREATMENT, HANDLING AND DISPOSAL ACTIVITIES (2.1) The construction of facilities for any waste sites, treatment of waste and disposal of waste (2.3) The import, processing, use and recycling, temporary storage, transit or export of waste. A sewage containment tank is installed on site. The sewage sump is drained and disposed as needed by the Proponent. Non-hazardous waste will be removed from site daily or as often as needed and taken to the nearest disposal facility. HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE TREATMENT, HANDLING AND STORAGE (9.1) The manufacturing, storage, handling or processing of a hazardous substance defined in the Hazardous Substance Ordinance, 1974. (9.4) The storage and handling of dangerous goods, including petrol, diesel, liquid petroleum gas or paraffin, in containers with capacity of more than 30 cubic meters as any one location. Hazardous materials expected to be stored on-site includes hydraulic oil and fuel. Currently there are no hazardous storage, but if any is required it will be less than 30m³ and include the necessary containment safety provisions. Oil containment dams (enclosed concrete oil sump) with piping from transformer bund wall area are installed. In the case of a catastrophic oil spill, the oil is removed safely from the bund area to an oil sump outside the building. The basic toilet facility will be supplied with septic tanks and truck removal services.
