Abstract:

RE-ISSUE OF CLERANCE CERTIFICATE FOR WASTE MANBAGEMEBNT DISPOSAL: :I make reference to the letter from the then EC Mr. T. Nghitila, dated 21 November 2018 (find attached). Due to COVID 19, Zovu Elephant Lodge was closed and has only now as of 1 March 2024, commenced with their operation. During the past years the owner has embarked on the following activities: • extensive maintenance of the buildings; upgrade of the solar power unit; upgrade of the Waste Management Protocols;  implement extensive marketing strategies to attract clients Project Name: Operation of ZOVU ELEPHANT LODGE, Zambezi Region Nature of Activity: Operating Zovu Elephant Lodge on the Namibian side of the Chobe River next to Kasika Immigration office. For Zovu Elephant Lodge to be accredited as an operating Lodge as prescribed by the Environmental Management Act No. 7 of 2007, the Environmental Clearance Certificate issued in November 2018, to operate as a Lodge, needs to be reviewed every three years. The owner, Nr Peter Visagie has appointed me, Dr. Ekkehard Klingelhoeffer, of Atlantic Consulting Services CC/ 2021/03824 as the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP), to assist my company to be re-issued an Environmental Clearance Certificate. the tasks to be as follows: (see attached) 1. To ensure that the Environmental Management Plan is updated and implemented 2. To ensure that a rigorous Waste Management Protocol is in place The above in brief.
